Where's Konrath? Blog Tour Day #7

To promote my horror novel, AFRAID, which debuts March 31, I'm appearing on different blogs every single day in March.

Please follow my daily journey, and broaden your blog-reading horizons.

Today I'm visiting the group blog, The League of Reluctant Adults, invited by author Mark Henry. Group blogs are always fun, and this one features a bunch of paranormal suspense and romance writers, many of whom I've hung out with.

My guest blog post is about pushing the envelope in fiction, and if it's possible to go to far. You might be surprised by my answers.

Also, many of you following this blog tour are undoubtedly curious if the book I'm flogging, Afraid, is any good. As mentioned in my last newsletter, I offered free copies in exchange for reviews. As these reviews trickle in, I'm linking to them...whether they're good or bad.

So far, Afraid has been reviewed by Shots UK:

Dark Scribe:

And be prepared to scroll down to read what Publishers Weekly has to say about my paperback original horror thriller:

There are still 24 days left on the blog tour, and I promise a lot of new, and radically different, posts in the oncoming weeks. I will not repeat myself.

Thanks for tuning it.

  1. A word about reviews.

While reviews are hugely necessary to help build word of mouth and sell books, I'm guessing many of my blog readers aren't going to be interested in clicking on reviews.

But I suggest you try it. Many of the reviews are being posted on review sites, and those are always fun to surf, to discover books you may not have heard of. Other reviews are on blogs, and one point of this tour is to widen blog-awareness in the thriller community.

Also, as you might have guessed, my publisher is following this blog tour, so posting reviews is proof that my promo efforts are paying off.

  3. I will definitely be picking up Afraid, even without the positive reviews you posted. Yes, I did click on them. Congrats on what looks like a great book!

  4. Joe,
Rest assured as soon as B&N asks me to "post a review of my recent purchase" I'll give Dirty Martini a rave. I bought the only copies of Bloody Mary and Rusty Nail on the shelf today at B&N.

I have to say that I said "awww" when I read the Bloody Mary dedication to your Mom whom you're "tickled pink about"....then I went directly into the intro of the book where we meet the bad guy in bed with his wife.
The contrast on those two things was pretty startling. LOL
You wouldn't be a dull guy at a party.

    Keep writing. I'll keep reading.
    Thanks!
    Karen
